How much does it typically cost to weld in some floor pans? I am going to do mine soon and was wondering what a decent price would be...

Is there any type of special welding or technique that goes into this?Is it a tough job remove the old ones and put them in?Any other info would be greatly appreciated...

This is an open question. Not enough info.

What kind of shape is your floor in? Do you have a garage and tools for this? Can you weld? Do you have a welder?

Can you look underneath and check the braces where they cross the frame rail and connect to the inner rocker panel? If the braces are rotten the effort is more than doubled, maybe tripled. Ask me how I know. Almost every "car magazine" shoot covering floor pans has good braces, accident, no. Doable, just not as fun. :(

Removal is the most fun, but be sure you do not cut thru the 1st layer of metal.

Thye weld is overlaping, using weld thru primer. A MIG is the way to go.

If you have a shop do it you are looking at $500-$1000 depending on how much rot they have to remove. There are several pics of guys doing here on this site.

Post more info on the floor and pics.

I am in the process of putting full length pans in my 65 chevelle. I have the old metal removed from the driver's side. I will take some pics and post them. I plan on lap welding the first piece into place. This required me to do some trimming from the new piece since I think it is meant as a true replacement panel, i.e, spot weld in factory locations. I measured carefully with the intention of leaving a 1/2 to 3/4 in of the old good metal as a flange for the new metal to lap over. I have test fitted and trimmed a few times to get a good fit and my next step is to get the new panel in place and put a few sheet metal screws in place to hold everything where I want it and then start tacking in the piece. After it is tacked in all around, I will start stitch welding in between the tacks.

no i cant weld. This was going to be for a 63 biscayne and I wanted to know what to look for. But the deal went sour. So im not looking at doing this anymore. See the post in Bench Racing. The floors were rotted through on the drivers side. A serious cancer case.

Thanks for the info though....
