I am trying to find out what material is it that fills up the roof rail gutters on my 67' That stuff is rock hard! Is it the same as seam sealer just thicker? Also is that the same seal that you put between the 1/4 panel extensions? thanks for any advice.

there is a gasket that goes between the extension i belive. not sure on the drip rail i was going to use seem sealer myself but we just cleaned it all out and painted. my car will not usually be out in the rain so we opted to leave the stuff off.

John, that is some type of seam sealer. If you look closely, you will see that there is a seam there. I would suggest grinding it down clean and painting and reappling it. I would venture to guess that you difinately need some type of seam sealer there, due to the seams.

There is a seal but there is also sealant around the seam too. The roof rail has about a 1/4 inch thick of seam seal.
