: HVLP Paint gun for occasional use

I plan to repaint my car sometime in the next 6 to 12 months and am considering buying an HVLP paint gun. I probably will be spraying a PPG Base/Clear Urethane. I have a decent Sharp 75 conventional gun that I bought in about 1975 but think it is time to get an HVLP gun. With the cost of paint these days the HVLP may pay for itself by the amount of paint it saves.

What is a good Model/Brand to consider if I will use it approx. once or twice a year. Approx. how much do they cost and where is a good place to buy them at a decent price?

Thanks, Joel

Tell me about your compresser set up. How much VOLUME of air do you have (CFM)?

I just bought a 7 HP, 80 Gallon 2 Stage Compressor. It is rated at 16.8 cfm at 90 PSI.

The compressor is actually from Lowe's but it appears to have similar specs to the Craftsman.
