I need to obtain front seat belts for my newly acquired 69 Malibu project. The original bench is missing, along with the belts. I have seen entire new and used sets for sale but didn't know if bench and bucket seat belt sets were interchangeable (or for that matter if the bolt holes in the floor are). I will probably put buckets and a console in once I get my hands on the car but only want to buy seat belts ONCE!

Thanks, Bill

Bucket and bench the same. They had two different types in 69.A standard type, plastic buckle the color of interior and belt. And a deluxe, little bit smaller buckle and brushed metal. You will also want the shoulder belts if your going buckets and with headrest.By the doors will have a retractable belt and a shoulder belt that attaches to the roof area, with clips to fold it up on.Against each side of the center hump, will need two female recievers for them.Shold see the holes for them if you take up the carpet.Have seen some people putting in more modern one piece belts that retract.Might go up into the search area at top of page and see if can find old post about it.

Thanks for the quick reply - won't see the car until the end of month but will keep my eyes open in the meanwhile.
