I have the body off of my 67 2 door sedan and want to know how the best way to tell if the frame is straight or not. I have measured in and "X" across 2 body mounts in the passenger compartment and see about 1/2" difference. I have looked for factory dimensions online, but have had no luck. I just don't want to do any work on this frame if it is not straight. Please help!

A half inch difference is a lot. However, you need to measure many different points to CONFERM that your first measurement is indeed so wrong. Do many cross measurements from body holes. Double sure that the points you are measuring are indeed the SAME on both rails. In other words measure DOWN the rail on each side to be sure the holes are located at the exact same point on each rail.

The factory has an .125 1/8 dim tollarance.
so the 1/2" exceeds that ...
go to http://chevellestuff.com/67stuff/groups/group.007/frame_dimensions.jepg

There you will fide a frame drawing with dim.
X the front eng bay area, then the main body area and latly the rear tail section ( mid rear axle area to frame end ) see if you can narrow down the area thats tweaked .

Thanks for the info. I have another question. This question regards the part of the frame between the transmission cross member and the lower control arm mount. The bottom of the c-channel is bent almost uniformly on both drivers and passenger side. I can't see any noticeable marks, and it is a pretty smooth curve. Is this normal?
