I purchased a vintage bicycle from a guy for $600 plus $50 shipping. I sent two postal money orders and the guy confirmed he received them and deposited them. Well, it has been a month and the guy won't respond to my emails or phone calls. It was not an eBay transaction because he ended the auction early to sell it to me. I noticed he was selling a truck on eBay and I contacted the buyer to see if the deal went okay. He said the guy was flaking on him so he did a back ground check. He finds the guy has been busted for felony insurance fraud in 2001. The good thing is, the guy gave me his work address and phone number. I already filed a mail fraud claim with the postal inspector. I threatened small claims also. This guy won't respond to anything. I just left a message on his employer's voice mail explaining the whole thing. The sad thing is I offered the guy a way out. I have a connection there that is willing to pick up the bike and do the dirty work of shipping it. All he has to do is call him to pick up the bike. The guy lives in Apache Junction in AZ which I hear is a shady area. My connection is going to go to his house this weekend and start taking pictures of his property and when the guy walks out he is going to snap one of him. My guy is an ex-cop.
Any of you guys had to deal with a problem like this? What else can I do.
