Looking in to replacing the front Door Panels and am looking for advice. I have been told that the Elcamio Front Panels will fit the 2 Door Chevelle Sedan, Is this true? I know they both have the Wing windows and the Chevelle has a Window Post which makes it unusal.
Any Thoughts will be appresiated..
Thanks

No. I don't know who told you that, but I would not seek any further advice from them :clonk:

What you didn't tell us is the model of your 300 Deluxe - is it a Two Door Post Coupe, Four Door Sedan, Two Door Hardtop or Wagon?

There are no "correct" reproduced door panels for the 69 300 Deluxe models. The Malibu Two Door Hardtop panels will fit the 300 Deluxe two door hardtops, but obviously the style is not correct. I've seen lots of Two Door Post Coupes done up with "re-fabricated" door panels for a Malibu two door hardtop, but again the style is not right. Also, the window cranks are in a different position on the Two Door Post Coupes than they are on the Two Door Hardtops.

Just in the last month PUI Interiors have reproduced a panel to fit the Two Door Post Coupes. I had them send me a picture of the product, but they used the Malibu material and style - DUH!

Good luck finding a nice used set of these panels, I've been looking for five years with no success. A person definitely has to be in the right place at the right time to get a set of these.

If you have your original panels you can send them away for repair. A company in Oregon called SMS Auto Fabrics (http://www.smsautofabrics.com) have reconditioned a number of these panels for people I know and they were happy with the end result.

Hope this information helps a little bit.

I was just doing my nightly Ebay surfing and found an example of a Malibu panel fabricated to fit a Two Door Post

Thanks for clearing the ElComino Thing, it sounded not quit right to me but the guy has had a number of these so I thought I would ask.
If I could get some solid advice on whether the common panels would fit I would be happy, for now anyway....

I spotted that E-Bay listing as well. I believe I had said that this was a 69' 2 Door Sedan with the Window post. I my case I'm not trying to perfectly match the original but want something that is going to fit properly and look good. On the Malibu panels isn't the window felt full length while the Post has Wing windows. Does this make a differance. I did notice Wing windows on a 68' 2 door hardtop but the lines along the door jam appeared to be staight while my car has a slight turn a few inches down from the top.
I don't have the original panels, this car was parked in a Pole barn when I found it and the last owner had attempted to start redoing the interoir. the old panles were gone but there were new ones in the truck still wrapped in plastic however they are not the assembled style and need the metal cap piece along with window felt which I can't find so I thought I would just get new and noticed that these really aren't the same as the Hard top.

Thanks Guys

I went ahead and ordered Malibu front panels and guess what, they don't fit! I guess I should of listened to the guy that I know has had many chevelle's.

On the Saden, the door angles slightly at the top rear when compared to the Hardtop. Live and learn, dont always believe what hear on forum pages.
