I have repaired my 69 Malibu dash (broken screw holes) and have seen a post about a year ago about a testors chrome paint pen. Does anyone know the Testors number for that item or suggest a method of renewing the chrome highlights on the dash?
Thanks

You just get a silver paint pen from your local craft store, I'd seen it done in several car magazines, in dash restoration articles. It worked nicely on my dash, though I do have to touch it up from time to time. Its a cheap and easy fix although not exactly accurate.

For a 68 or 69 that has the wide perimeter chromed I always mask that area off
and spray with a good chrome paint rattle can (like bumper chrome). It comes out better than with the pen. I use the pen to outline all the rest.

If you have an airbrush, you could try one of Testor's or Humbrol's "metalizer" paints. But the pens from the crafts store work pretty good for touch-ups too. Another thing you can use would be Bare-Metal foil, it looks like real chrome. I think Hobby Lobby carries a similar product.
