I have installed a 1969 tailgate on my 70El Camino. I have a pair of new repo SS mouldings, but no clips. I have been told that the 70 uses clips that go thru holes in the tailgate. I have also been told that some have studs on the gate for clips similar to the rear window mouldings. My tailgate was not an SS and therefore there are no holes.

What type do I need and where might I find them?

Thanks

Dutch,

My El Camino tailgate has studs for the upper and lower trim. I hear you can purchase screw in type studs just for this. Check the body section forum here or at Team Camaro. I'm sure there's a discussion there with the screw size.

Mine has the studs, but I wasn't able to locate the clips anywhere. I finally ended up fabbing up a solution of my own. If you can't find the clips, I will share.

Screw in posts for the clips can be found at Mr. G's site http://www.mrgusa.com/pdfs/60-62wsclip.pdf at the bottom of page 62

If you know what the clips look like, you may try to match them to the clips section at http://www.mrgusa.com
