Hey Guys

My new engine has arrived and the block is freshly vated, clean and unpainted. I'm hoping to spray matching urethane body color on the block only. Everything else is aluminum. What type preparation if any needs to be done before I lay down the color.

I cleaned my block using lacquer thinner, brake cleaner, & alcohol. It wasn't that bad having just come from the shop. I then sprayed it with high temp engine primer before applying base coat/clear coat paint. Its been about a year and still looks good. Here's a picture:

I used wax and grease cleaner on mine.The key is to clean it real good first, just like you would anyother part you'd be painting :cool:

Use a good degreaser, clean is the secret,I use urathane tinted primer sealer.
