I am about to change the carpet and front seat in my 65. It is a factory bench and I am changing it to the pro-car buckets. The seats, carpet and brackets arrived today. Is there anything I should know about taking out the old stuff and putting in the new? Any special items I am going to need?

Thanks

Steve

Yeah, if you want the cars interior to be quieter, you have to replace the old asphalt sound mats that are directly on the floor pan. Original parts group sells these for 100 bucks for the kit. This will dramatically reduce cabin noise. Also, buy the carpet with the jute padding (Insulation) tacked on to the bottom of the carpet. This will save you a lot of time and will also make the cabin quieter. While your at it fix/replace the floor panels if necessary. do not cut the carpet until everthing sits right and tucked in. After you made sure that everything is nice and tight, with a piece of chalk, mark the areas that will be cut , around the gas pedal, the dimer switch, and the sill plates, do not make the same mistake I did and start cuting before everthing is glued down. Good luck!
