It was a sad day today, I had to go to the wake for my grandfather  .. He was an extraordinary man that ALWAYS thought of others before himself..

He passed on sat morning at age 91.. Although it saddens me to see him go, I can't help but think that he has to be in a better place.. the last two years have been an uphill struggle for him, as his body was just falling apart..TO tell the truth, I'm kind of relieved to see him at piece..

Anyway, didn't mean to bring the mood down but just wanted get a few things off my chest, kind of a memorial to a man I respected (maybe more than anybody else in the world)..

I have a Grandfather that's 93 and a Grandmother that's 89. They can still mow their lawn but we won't let them. My Grandfather has started shaking in his hands over the last year or so. My Grandmother told me he hurts the whole next day if he mows. He will never mow again on my watch. He's the best man I've ever known, far better than I. I'm sorry for your loss. I hope I go before my Grandfather.

Sorry for your loss, seems he had a full life and he IS in a better place.

I think YOU are kinda a memorial to him. I try to keep my family and friends alive in the things they taught me. Mike

at 91, i hope you got to hear all the stories this man had. i think it's a lost art, that young men don't actually sit and listen to the older ones. before the internet, that's how info and advise was passed, and i think it's a shame that more men don't pay attention to thier elders. sounds like you understood this and took advantage of the treasure before you. god rest his soul...
