on my 70 chevelle 350 the new ac line i ordered from npd doesnt fit it appears the rear ac bracket is in the way. the bracket that bolts to the intake manifold the ac line can not go up far enough to fit into the ac compressor holes. i tried moving the ac compressor back if i go forward the belt will be too loose anyone else had this problem? the only other ac compressor they offer the pully is just bigger other than that its the same.

you might get more help if you clarify this line: "the bracket that bolts to the intake manifold the ac line can not go up far enough to fit into the ac compressor holes."

how doers it compatre with your old line? can you post a pic?

I have found that getting the hoses custom made is the best way to get a proper fit. I go to shops that make custom hydraulic hoses for heavy equipment. Most large cities have at least one. The one here locally has a bunch of car guys working there and they made custom fit hoses for my Vintage Air system, my power steering and rear brake system for about the cost of over the counter hoses.

called around and going to a shop that i hope can cut off the fitting off the old lines and weld them to the new lines so it will fit between the rear ac compressor bracket and the compressor itself. i should know by tomorrow. i just inmagine that someone else had to of had this problem before. its just that the made the reproduction lines wrong but what can you do i need new ones .they are the only place that sells them.

the photo shows that the hoses are different, you could give npd a call before you modifide it they may be able to get the correct one, If not there Is another one you can contect, that original part's group # 1800-243 8355, and explain to them what you have Good luck.

called all the major suppliers they all get them from the same company so i had the ac shop cut the old original end off and put it on the new lines i bought. he is also making the smaller line the one that comes off of the dryer .i cant beleive nobody else ram into this problem unless everone just get them made locally . thanks redman f1 storm
