My new times are:
60'-----1.859-----1.853-----1.86
330'----5.231-----5.261-----5.246
1/8-----8.106-----8.178-----8.144
MPH----84.943----83.473----84.192

The 8.106 run was my best. I launched at 1800rpm and shifted at 5500 and 5800. Finish line rpm was 5000. I tried launching at 15,16,18, and 2000rpms. At 2000rpms I was spinning the tires. Previously my best times was 8.3 at 85.06 at Qualcom Stadium with a 2.065 60'. The only changes I've made to the car was putting poly bushings in the rear lower control arms and adding more tire pressure.

It felt like it was lauching real straight and jumping out of the hole. I was able to put the throttle to the floor as soon as the launched. What can I do to get a better launch? Rapid Robert had meantioned South Side Machine bars but I don't understand how they work. I still drive this car on the street and I don't want to make it unstreetable.

One more question. Do you guys think my rear gears are too low for the 1/4 mile? Like I said ealier, I'm crossing the 1/8 mile at 5000rpms.

Here's some videos too:

If you gain 20 mph in the second half that will make your rpm about 6250. You might try taller tires if that is more rpm than you want.

SSM bars, or the Jegs equivalent, work fine on the street. You won't notice any difference until you launch.

Right on, looked good. one thing to keep in mind is that one is a parking lot & the other a drag strip. :)

there is no such thing as too much gear, only not enogh tire. J/K, If you are going to run the 1/4 you might run out of gear, but as pat said, get more tire. what dia tire are you running now?

with as hot as it was up there on Sunday, for sure there is more in the car. a little tuning & you could get it to run harder. I cant wait until they goto night races up there.

I'm running 28" tall tires. I know I have more in the car because I checked my timming and it was only at 29* fully advanced and my carb is running a little rich. I need more track time.

Bobalos, was that you that came up to me in the staging lanes and asked about my hood?

No, unfortunately I was not able to make it up. I am going to be there on the next Summit race though (18 June, http://www.baronadrags.com/schedule.shtml) to do a T&T session. if your able to come up, we can hook up.

Or if you go down to the Q for a Race Legal night, email or PM me, Im right up the hill from there so its nothing for me to go down & meet you. I like to meet other folks to check out thier rides.
