I am thinking about replacing the dash in my 69'. The one in it is cracking and jsut does not look good. I found one in ground up for like $169. How much work is it to replace the dash? Thanks for the help, I m learning as i go with this car!

I swaped the dash on my 68 it isn't to big of a deal but it can look overwhelming when you get it all out since their will be wires everywhere. Anyway take the peice out below the column, then drop the column with two bolts and it will just bob around. No idea if it is bad for it or not since when I did it i took the whole thing out and painted the steering shaft. Anyway, then start disconnecting stuff. Heater controls, radio, headlight switche, wiper switch, Then when you get all of that disconnected you will then take out the dash. You can take it out with everything on it but mine was pretty brittle over the years but i live in arizona where plastic doens't do so well.
Good luck!

Found it easier to get a comfortable location on my back by taking the seat out.Labeled every wire and ruff sketched a drawing of where it goes. The bulb holders get brittle after awhile, pried mine off with little screw driver. If the metal holders come off can be superglued back on.First time took a few hours, took it easy doing it.After that it a breeze.

Didn't need to take the radio and ac stuff out of mine.So just unscrewed the stuff off the front of dash. And left it in.Taking it out once everything is unhooked dezel will just about fall out.Helps to have a second pair of hands putting in,but i do it by myself.
