Do I really need to use the gasket between the taillight assembly and the body, and between the taillight assembly and the taillight lens? My 1970 EC will never see rain except by accident. They seem like they may be tough to install, they aren't present now.

Use gaskets or you may pay the price.Thats why they sell them-to keep out wet and wild things Never drive in RAIN?? Why don't you try silicone-it will fix all your lights???
