I just traded my fiberglass hood for an original cowl hood.Is there any insulation that is supposed to fit under the hood?

Cowl with no flapper (mine) has insulation on the fwd part

My hood has a flapper.

yes there is insulation several pieces that fit in the openings

Hey Philip,

I just bought a '71 El Camino that has the same hood (no flapper). This hood is not the original and my question is how to find out the operational differences of the non-flapper verses the flapper. Where can I find out how this non-flapper is supposed to function? Can you recommend any books/articles? I'm still learning . . .
