Man this thing is killing me!!! Mine does not have the depressed wipers, the wwmotor is rectangular and it is hooked up exactly as should be I think This is how it looks:
BLK/YLW:Power from the new fuse box (center spade on the top and splits to the bottom terminal with DKBLU)
LTBLU:Top left spade and goes to the switch
BLK:Top right spade and goes to the switch
DKBLU:Bottom spade and shares a connector with BLK/YLW goes to the switch
This is motor #3. As soon as I apply power the uppermost mounting screw arcs and the motor suddenly has voltage running through it. In other words it completely shorts out and voltage is passing straight through it, even the output shaft suddenly becomes hot. I'm at my whits end. Help if you can PLEASE!!!!!

Ok, the first thing I need to ask is, how is the motor mounted? Does it use three rubber grommets as on my 70? One of those grommets should have a ground strap running from it TO the motor frame. This grounds the motor frame to the firewall. It sounds like you have a very bad ground connection from the motor frame to the firewall. Here's what you do (I've done this because of bad contact between the mounting bolt and the center sleeve of the grommet). Run a separate ground wire.....#12 is fine, from the motor frame (find a screw or bolt you can attach it to, using a crimp on spade connector). Attach the other end to the firewall, either by drilling a small hole and using self tapping bolt (which is what I did), or by finding an existing screw holding something else to the firewall.

You are finding voltage on the motor frame because with no complete electrical connection (the bad ground), the voltage flows THROUGH the motor and to the motor frame. The shaft is getting hot because the current is finding partial completion (with HIGH resistance) through the shaft, wiper linkage and wiper transmission. CHECK YOUR GROUND CONNECTIONS.
