im trying to install an ss dash strip onto my chevelle malibu and am having trouble trying to get the light switch wiper and lighter mounted i have read numerous post here about the differences in the strips and that different hardware is needed to install this SS strip i have looked and searched for the SS harware but of course have not found any.has anyone figure a simple way to get this installed . my last hope is at the Super Chevy Show this weekend in Ennis TX im gonna search the swap meet but fell i will not find the hardware thanks for any help

Try here http://www.ss396.com/pdf/newchevelle/60_80.pdf, I saw the SS dash strip on the top of page 69, but don't see the nuts there. It's possible there elsewhere...

i called them today they do not carry the hardware

You will have to drop the dash to fasten the strip to the back of the dash. If you can't get the wiper and light switchs in you must have the wrong year strip. I don't know why you couldn't "move" the holes in the dash if you didn't want to buy the correct strip. The hardware (if I remember corrctly) is a screw and an upside down "U" bracket with a hole in the middle for the screw to hold it to the plastic studs. The brackets could be made by hand at last resort. Nobody would ever see them anyway.
