I am not planning to use the heater bypass hose (short) on my big block. Some have said to be sure to use a holed thermostat or a water pump with internal bypass. I have ordered Edelbrock Victor Series (EDL-8851) but don't know if it has internal bypass. Who makes the holed thermostats ? Some say they have drilled their own holes...can anyone supply a photo or sketch ? Or maybe just explain size and locations to drill.
Thanks,

I drilled five 1/8" holes in the flate plate part of my thermostat. If you lay the thermostat in the housing on the manifold, you will see where the flange rides on the intake, just inside of there, on the flat surface, 5 holes all around the actual srping loaded piece. I do have a bypass hose though. The purpose of my drilled holes is so I can have flow through the thermostat and radiator when the temp is below thermstat opening point. I use this to cool off between rounds at the track.
