Orange, orange, orange.
Some I've seen are this brownish colour, others sooty black - in bad need of an engine shampoo.
ORANGE is standard, correct Chevy engine colour.

Orange Block / Black Heads (unless they're aluminum)

what about painting it the smae color as the frame, a dark grey color? or do you think it would be too black and white?

then what kind of paint? Rustoleum? single-stage? PPG? DUPONT? what shoud i do with the frame to?

I'm gonna try POR 20 heat resistant bright aluminum on mine just to be different. If I don't like it I'll use the correct "Chevy orange" before I put it in the car.

Theoretically black is supposed to be the best color. At the local shows I go to the shinier the better so I'm going to try the bright aluminum.

Elcaminos are special!
I'd rather walk around with a Chevrolet hubcap in my hand than drive a Ford

I my mind, the coolest look is Chevy orange block, heads and water pump, black oil pan (it gets that color anyway), brushed aluminum intake and valve covers, black water inlet/thermostat housing. If you are using headers-satin black. If you are using cast iron exhaust manifolds-steel gray.

We are the restoration page. We want to restore. Orange is the colour http://www.chevelles.com/forum/tongue.gif

Now I had a 305, no a 267 (cr$p motor) that was blue and the heads were a different blue. But that was ...? a 1980.
