I went on an interview today with Spectre industries. I thought they just made wire holders, chrome pulleys and dress up stuff. They make a lot more stuff than I ever thought they had.

Does anyone have any comments about this company ? Good or bad.

Thanks !

Tom

The little plastic thingies on their wire looms break to easily......

One thing to ask yourself. Are their products being bought by the import crowd? If so there probably is some future for the company. If not, they might not be around as most muscle car folks tend to not buy the cheesy bling style stuff for their rides( if that is all they are making) anymore ;).

wow.. i'm surprised they have an office in the USA. they are the physical manifestation of what i would consider "pacific rim cheap chrome stuff".
but if their stuff is made here, i guess "made in the USA" doesn't really count for much.
but that's just my opinion, i could be wrong..

If it's a job that you can do well at, be proud to work at and enjot doing, who cares what they market. Maybe at some point you get involved with introducing some better quality products.

A few years ago they made these hose fittings (http://www.dalesplace.com/forsale/spectre_fittings.jpg) that worked well. Don't see them around much anymore.

Like I said, I was amazed at the depth of their product line. Their catalog is 350 pages ! It spans the ricers, streetrodders and muscle car equipment form bling to serious HP adders.

They have aluminum and chrome air cleaners , air intake systems the LS1 guys like. They have a complete line of pulleys, mounting brackets and header stud locking kits not to mention hose kits of all kinds.

Would you pay $49 for a oil changing system that routes a hose from your pan to a remote filter and then allows you to drain your oil from the top of the car with an electric pump ? Never getting under the car ? Everything you need to install the system on any car is included it the kit. They have one on the market but I had never heard of it. I will buy one for $49.

I think they have an image problem or lack of identity.
