I've been surfing E-bay Motor's lately looking for the proper steering wheel for the last finishing touch of completing my interior re-upolstering job this past spring. I am getting real close to finishing and would like to top it off with the right wheel.

For some reason I cannot find the right wheel for a 71' all of the supply houses seem to only have the SS stering wheels for up to 70' model year !! I do know that you could get the same wheel that the Camaro's used which was a special option. But my question is what did the standard SS steering wheel look like ????

Pics' would be great guy's or some info on where I can purchase the correct wheel

Thanks;

Thanks gigem !!!! I thought that was the correct wheel too !! I ended up purchasing the optional one you could also have ordered the Chevelles with today !!!! Found it on E-bay this morning in Canada to boot !!!!! The wheel looks like the ones used in the Camaro's 4 spokes, but insted of saying Z28 in the center it say's SS

Thanks again for the quick reply gigem !!!!

It's been said around here that the "SS" horn button didn't come on the optional steerting wheel that you just bought. An SS with 4-spoke wheel would have come with an Chevy bowtie horn button.

I sold the standard SS wheel in the above picture, and replaced it with the same wheel you just bought. Here's that picture...

gigem; Yes I am aware of that info and truley do appreiciate your responses on my questions !! That's why I bought both horn center caps with the wheel !! He actually had both the SS center cap and the Bowtie so I bought both !!! I like the way the SS horn cap looks personaly better but for shows I will just snap the SS cap off and install the Bowtie one for AUTHENTICITY !!!!

Thanks Again gigem........... ZIGGY454
