I'm trying to find a vinyl dye to match the ivory/pearl seat covers in my '70. I want to dye the re-pop headrests I bought (only come in black). Year One has a dye called Pearl but it's listed for a '68.

Have you guys tried the Pearl for '70 vinyl parts? Is it close? If not, any other suggestions?

It's $65 and has to be applied with a gun so I want to be sure!

Thanks!

Andy

I bought pearl vinyl dye from OPGI several years ago. They might still be selling the stuff. Give it a try. In my opinion, it does not dry very hard and now the paint is peeling because of some people (who do not understand and I know who they are) are releasing the seatback and letting the headrest lean against the steering wheel. arrghhh!!

I thought (uh-oh) that Year One, Ground Up, and others sold headrest covers in pearl/ivory? Unless of course you don't want to cover your headrest, which I can understand. Glad I read this now, because our '70 is getting a new ivory interior next Spring ...

Hinshaw's catalog has spray cans of vinyl dye for $11. They list Pearl for 68,70. Maybe the same color both years?

As of my last catalog, the only headrests that come in colors are Camaro's - which makes no sense! Even Just Dashes has to cover them with vinyl in some other color and then dye 'em - white - not pearl and charge you a fortune!!

I hate the thought of peeling paint/dye on headrests. I don't understand why, if PUI can make seat covers in Ivory/pearl, someone can't get vinyl for headrests that color! It's not THAT uncommon of an interior color!!

Von - I'll check it out.

Thanks
