Someone told me there is a product called "mask off" or some name similar. This is supposed to be sprayed on and protects from dust, paint, etc. It will spray off with water when you want the surface clean.
I want to spray my newly painted frame, suspension, rear with this to protect from overspray, etc when working on the body.
Has anyone heard of this. The person who told me of this is a bodyman and has never used it but knows it exists.
Thank you.
Mark
I've used a product like that, and it works really good. A common paint store slang name for it is "slime". I think 3M made it first, and it was a green color. It does dissolve with water. Just a garden hose will take it off easily. The best I remember it's about $25 a gallon, but it doesn't take much over a quart to cover all the exterior on a Chevelle. A lot of body shops use it to keep overspray off the rest of the car when doing a spot repair.

Liquid Mask, Slime, fluid mask, whatever you call it, as long as you don't put three coats of paint on it, it's really easy to remove.. I used it to tape out some artwork on panels I painted and had to remove with a razorblade and TLC http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif however, wherever you spray it ti will protect. I would venture to say that it would be the best for frame/engine compartment protection when it hits the body shop. I paid 22 bucks at my local jobber for a gallon..
