Do the repro SS hoods for 67 seem to fit as good as the original? I was wondering if there are any common problems with these.

The hoods are lighter in weight, had the body man help me get it to fit correctly. Not quite satisfied with it. May just repair my original one and see how it looks with the body work done. I would try and get a original if possible. Just my .02

Thanks for the info. Sounds like repro may be a lot of work.

I was just at a guy's house today, locally, and he has a nice 67 SS and was telling what a nightmare he had with the repro. hood. Put it on, couldn't make it look right, called the well known resto. parts place, they said they would send him another ( keep the other!) and they did, but that one was worse! and he ended up selling both of them, to someone who had a "driver" car and purchased a real nice orig. hood in New Hampshire for $$$..... be afraid, be very afraid!

I bought a repro hood to replace my banged & twisted original. After a day of trying to fit it, I still wasn't very happy but felt it could be worked by my painter. He took one look at it & decide to fix my old hood.

The repro hoods aren't horrible, they just aren't the same strength, weight & overall quality of the originals. I'd say that they are good for a driver. I'm sure any GOOD body man could make them fit good enough for show, but with the light weight I'm not convinced the good fit will last.
