I'm now not sure what color I want to paint my car..is there a way I can get some charts somewhere with a bunch of colors on it?

Go too your local body supplier and ask to see the current chip book for PPG... That should doo the trick.. Of course if you want too use another paint (than PPG) you'll have to ask for that book.. remember there are alot of "New" colors out there, and quite a few manufacturers of custom paints.. your best bet is narrow down what your looking for and then get a chip book.. Good Luck!

Normie has the idea but let me add NEVER RELY ON THE CHIPS, ALWAYS GET AT LEAST A PINT AND SPRAY IT OUT!

I painted my Chopped top 1948 Chevy pick up when I was 17. I wanted competition orange, went to the color chip book for the new Corvette (that should give me a HOT orange, right?) I bought a gallon of Ditzler (PPG to you young guys) and when the truck was all prepaired, ready to shoot, I opened the can. DOH, it was Omaha orange, the color of the Cal trans trucks (California Department of Transportation)! It was REAL ugly, come to find out years later, Chevy painted the Vette that color one year only (I think just one year), 1976. I couldn't afford $32.00 for another gallon, so I lived with it.

The moral of the story is that chip is just ink, not paint. So use it as a guide and then buy a pint and spray it out on a large panel or even the fender of your car to get a real good look at it. You will be spending a LOT of money and will have to live with it a long time.

Second tip, find a car at a new car dealer that you like the color and then simply get the color code off of it. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif
