I bought a bottle of the 3M Finessit listed bellow. What pads should I use with these?
Compound- #5973
polish- #5928
Glaze- 5996
Should I get 3M perfectit pads or will any foam pads work? Do I need one pad for each compound? I have heard the waffle style(like in a gun case) foam are the best, is that true?

I have used Maguiars pads and 3M Hookit pads. I prefer 3M. The waffle pattern of their pads keeps the compound/glaze from flying all over the place. I always seem to be sanding and polishing older hard clears and have found that a wool pad works better for compounding. I really like the 5996 and the 3M polishing pad. I'ts amazing how well they remove compound swirl marks. One word of caution about the 3M pads, they can be damaged pretty quickly if you aren't careful around edges.

The wool pads are much more aggresive than the foam, fast cut with heavy swirl marks. I prefer the waffle design foam.

I got the Waffle foam by 3M and they kick butt! The White waffle for compounding after the 2000 wet and the black pad for final glazing! :D
Thanks a million guys I would have dumped $$ on wool and prbably been frustrated ;)
