I'm restoring a 70 chevelle ss, & am wondering about these flaps. Do they go on the engine side of the inner fender well, or on the wheel side of this fender well. My ss is an earlier one w/ steel fender wells, if it matters. I know the staples go thru from engine side to wheel side.

We tried to figure this out before. In the assembly manual it appears they go on the engine side. Some here are original owners with some inside, some outside. Best we can figure the guy on the line did it they way he thought was easiest.

I went home & checked my '66; those are on the outside, which looks correct, as they have little slits in them.
I put one on my '70 a 1/2 hr ago, on the inside, & I think it's okay. I'll touch up the staples w/ a bit of paint, & we're cool.
