I often check out the classifieds here for parts. Lately I have noticed more ads about someone selling parts then reference to an Ebay ref number. I know they are just letting you know that the parts available. It just bums me out when I see a part I can use here and have to wait and try bidding against the world. I personally have been trying to stay away from Ebay prices are getting to far out of my reach.

That is one reason I think all classified ads here should require a price. The ones with an Ebay link should have a "buy it now" price listed.

I always thought the same thing. If I see something I need in the classifieds that shows its on E pay, I just pass. I usually need the same stuff everyone else needs for thier Chevelle (or 66) and I am not about to pay an inflated price for it in some bidding war. I dont have the money to do that anyways.

It is aggrevating to me when I see the part is listed on ebay. There should be a way to let people know it is an ebay item.

I always list a price including the shipping costs on any item I've got listed for sale...either here or on Ebay.
Saves me a round of email exchanges with a prospective buyer.
Usually, I can guesstimate the shipping cost and just include it in the asking price or list it on the auction. Depending on how far away the actual buyer lives; some times I win-some I lose.
It all averages out...

I dont have a problem with the E-bay links as long as it is stated in the "title"

You gotta pay to play.
If it is on ebay and you can't afford the parts you need then maybe classic cars is not the hobby you should be involved in.
Supply and demand determines the price of what things are worth.
The guys that complain about buying stuff on ebay usually never have any complaints about what they have sold on ebay.
Nothing wrong with mentioning an ebay auction in my opinion.

I agree completely. If it is an auction item, then it should say so clearly in the description (with "Auction:" or "FA:" instead of "FS:"). It isn't "for sale" -- it's "for auction". If that was done, I'd be fine with it.

Seems like posting a For Sale in the Member's Classified for something also listed on Ebay defeats the whole purpose of the Member's Classified. I thought the forum was to offer something for sale to other members prior to offering to the general public. Isn't that why access to the forum is restricted to members?

I have no problem with someone putting something up on Ebay or the free classifieds here. Putting on Ebay and the Member's classifieds seems contradictory.
