You do good work,Al.Quick question,do you drop the body on the frame then paint or do you paint the body separately?

can i ask why you have so much overspray on the valve covers? I know GM used to overspray the intake... never knew the covers were oversprayed that much

Yea, those valve covers supposed to be overspraayed?? And whats up with that Hurst shifter handle?? And is the intake manifold supposed to be made out of paper??

I think thats just tape or maybe ... the ultra rare 2 tone valve cover option.

Dude, busting my Ba&*s pretty hard arent ya??. Valve covers are temps...used to keep paint out of my heads untill the real ones come back from plating. As for the HUrst shifter...you have used a Muncie shifter havent you???....nuff said. Intake is missing also out being restored and is masked off with paper again to be clean. Hopefully some of my items out being replated ..recoated and replaced will come back soon and I can send pics of iut finished

I would be worried less about the shifter and valve covers. That car is missing the body and fenders! :clonk: :D

Nice work!

Al, If they don't like your Hurst shifter, then they sure won't like what we are doing with ours. The Hurst that was in our car for 99% of its life will be going back in along with the white Hurst "T" handle . It will get a new set of Hedman Headers as it had for most of its life. The smog stuff will stay in the box. We have a nice set of Cragar SS mags as well. If you like a restored car then that's fine. We're going for day two or could you call it day three since we did it all once before? Whatever, these cars were meant to be driven and we plan on doing that too. I was 23 when I bought the Chevelle and will be 23 again behind the wheel. I'm sure that you will be a few years younger too. We have the chassis rolling and might just need a pry bar to get the body man done with his end of the work. We would like to have the car on the road next summer but I'm not holding my breath.

Keith, drove my 70 chevelle with the muncie shifter around the block and then took it out!!! talk about a guess a gear!! I chose the stock route as it is my preference(except for the shifter) and I guess I will fell younger when I do drive it...I was 8 yo when it was built and do not even remember these cars when new...but I am catching up. Going to the body shop later today to make arrangements for some booth time in the near future. I would like to have the paint done by the end of the month...nice to dream isn't it??
