First off, where is the dippstick on a munci M-20 (i think) in a 69' SS. It has been leaking fluid and id like to be able to see how much. I got under it to check it out and the whole underside of the tranny was wet and it looked to me like fluid was coming out of more than 1 place. Is there a large gasket that runs the length of the tranny that might need replaced. Sorry if this is not a very good description, im really not very technical. But i have not driven the car since i noticed the leak about a week ago and i could use any input.....Thanks a lot for the help!!!

Muncie M20 is a 4 speed and there is no dip stick or large gasket that runs from one end to the other. Could it be a automatic car???

If this is a 4 spd Standard transmission, (it uses a clutch right?) then there will be a pipe plug on the passenger side of the case. About half way up from the bottom. This is where you check the lubricant level and refill. Fill to the point that you can just touch with your finger through the hole. First make sure that you have gear lube for a leak. It smells completely different from the engine oil. An engine oil leak can gather and drip down on the transmission case. As for gaskets, they normally don't leak on a 4 spd as there is no pressure internally in the case. If it is leaking, you will need to have a qualified transmission mechanic seal it up.
