I have a 65 chevelle ss convertable that i am currently doing a body off restoration. I noticed that the body lines on the rear deck lid that join the quarter panel are not there.I assumed that the last owner just mudded them up but when i stripped off the paint i noticed that the lines were filled with lead. Now I don't know if they were filled from the factory or if someone had a little too much time on there hands. Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.

If you could scan in some pictures, it would help.

Don, this came up in a post just last week, not sure if its correct or not, but my 69 convert seams were filled with lead as well. I assume from the factory.

I think you are talking about the 1/4 panel seam. that are located at the top corners of the trunk area to the edge of the pinch weld. This seam is factory lead filled and finished to a smooth body contour on convertibles.
