I have a malibu that had factory air, but am wanting to remove it from the vehicle. The problem:How can I remove the housing and STILL be able to use the heater fan to heat the car when needed. Will a housing off of a non-AC car bolt in place of the AC housing? I am just trying to dress up the engine compartment and wanted to remove that big bulky AC condenser housing unit. Thanks again!!! Scot if you remove the a/c housing from the underhood area it will leave a big ugly hole in the firewall. You will have to make a plate to cover the hole. To get the heat to work you can use a heater from a non-a/c car and cover the remaining hole with a plate.

Why oh why would you want to do away with factory AC... that is if it works.
