My 70 model chevelle says just that on the body... not malibu. did they make just a chevelle and not a chevelle malibu? if so do they look identicle as far as the body goes and the interior? which is harder to find or more rare to get hold of. thanks

If you do a search on this topic, you'll find that it comes up, oh, every few weeks. ALL Malibu's are CHEVELLES. The Malibu was a trim option with a few more "appointments" for creature comfort and "looks". Where does it say "Chevelle" on your car. The "Chevelle by Chevrolet" script on the trunk is normal, as is the Chevelle script on the grill. If it's a true Malibu, it'll have the Malibu script on the front fenders, near the door/fender seams. On the interior door panels it will also say "Malibu". Above the heater controls, unless it has air conditioning, the plate will say Chevrolet. If the original steering wheel in intact, "Chevelle" will be imprinted in silver on the horn shroud. People who own the "300" series will fill you in on that model Chevelle.
