Painted the 70 chevelle on monday and it came out awesome. Origional Fathom blue PPG DBC 2000, and PPG 2021 clear. You want shine? man you got to wear sun glasses at night. Never have done a bc/cc in my life, in fact the last thing I painted was my 76 K-10 eight years ago, also in my garage at home. Also first time using a HVLP gun. Im stunned!! I DO HAVE 1 PROBLEM THOUGH, as you could guess by the topic. Yup 2 bugs in the hood. I believe that I want to wet sand with 1000 or so and reclear the hood. . Is this the right approach? Quite sure Buffing will not do it. How soon can I put sand paper to it, and reclear it? Also, the car won't be on the road till next year, Is it feasable to wait until next summer to buff the whole car if I decide to even do it? Thanks for the help,

Roger

spray more clear over them and thousands of years from now they will be able to use the dna to make a modern day jurassic park! graemlins/clonk.gif

You can get some 1000 grit and sand them out the next day. Be careful, you don't want to break through to the color coat. You may not have to reclear the hood if the bugs come out quick.

I have wet sanded the hood with 1000 and got the bugs out. I did not break thru the clearcoat. Do I now just have to clean and reclear? I do not have a buffer or any of the supplies to buff, so I would like to just reclear if it will be ok and come out like it should.

Thanks alot

Now you can re-clean it - very very well - and the shoot another coat of clear.

Say don't feel bad ,years ago I was giving a student dentist a hand with a denture, my hydraulic press was not operating so we took it into the garage and put it between a scissor jack and my el camino - raised jack ,pressed flask , good it worked ,dentist took it home to cure and next day gave me a call he was polishing denture and saw 2 FLEAS trapped in the acrylic well we both had a few laughs and I'm still working with this guy
