Title says it all. Just got the gauge. The sensor is 1/8 in. pipe thread. I would rather not weld some thing to the pan. But All i can think of is welding/brazing a fitting to the pan, then screw in the sensor. Also, is there one place to mount is that is better than another?
Thanks,
Alex

Sorry, but we braze a fitting in the pan, close to the bottom of the sump and about 2" from the rear (just so it doesn't interfere with the drain plug.

Oil temp sensor? What do we need that for? :D I don't have a 5" tach, nor do I have a shift light, just 3" tach, oil pressure, water temp and fuel pressure guage under the hood. Down here in the boonies/backwoods we can't afford those luxuries, but we still r purdy darn good drag racers :D

I just did this last week while I have hte engine out. I brazed a steel bushing in the pan. From there I will thread the brass adapter and fitting in. I installed it just behind and above the drain plug.

Couldn't you just tee it off the pressure sender port? Is the temp there different?

The oil temp sender needs to be installed in the sump, otherwise there is not enough oil mass to give an accurate temperature reading. Best location is near the bottom of the pan, about .500" to 1.000" from the bottom.

Thanks guys,
I guess that is what I will be doing during the engine swap.
