Have a 67’ 396 SS frame restoration recently purchased as a driver Sept. 04’

Recently, there is an intermittent engine knock. Not sure if knock is topside or bottom side. However, when knock starts I notice a misfire. Any ideas what this could be?

I'd suspect something in the valve train.
