: Connecting Rod Direction?

I am in the process of final mock up on my big block and I was just double checking all my work and noticed that I made one mistake. The number stamped on the number 3 connecting rod is very faint and when I installed the rod on the piston I reversed its direction. In other words all the other rods have the number facing the corresponding cylinder. The rods are full floating Chevy 7/16 rods. The piston is installed in the cylinder in the correct direction. On final assembly can I install the rod this way or should I buy a few more spiral locks and flip the rod around?

Two other questions:

1. Is there a torque setting for the bolts that secure the oil filter boss to the
block?

2. I checked the clearances of the oil pump gears and they are right on.
What's the torque for the cover bolts?

The numbers stamped on the rod don't mean anything. The tangs have to face the pan rails. Also, look at the side of the big end, you'll notice that one side is chamfered. This side goes toward the outside of the journal. The smooth sides of the rod faces the adjacent rod.
