Now that I safely removed the glass, how should I keep it safe. Right now I have them tucked away in the basement with the bottom edge on ground and top edge leaning against a wall. Is this O.K. or should I lay them flat?

I would lay them flat with a moving pad or some kind of quilt between the glass and whatever you lay them on.

progress has little to do with speed, but lots to do with direction.

DO NOT lay them flat for storage!! They should be stored upright with some sort of padding between the glass and the floor and padding between the two pieces if stored together.

For my extra rear glass, I wrapped it in bubble wrap and the "reconfigured" box my CI hood came in. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/biggrin.gif It leans up against the wall and won't get scratched.

I agree, keep them upright and not flat. The rear windows are very durable, but I have had windshields crack from temp changes while just sitting around. An old comforter or other padding will keep the scratches away, but also have to be careful with the edges which are pretty delicate.

Store 'em vertically. I'd recommend a couple of lengths of that split foam pipe insulation for the bottom edge, then wrap in a moving blanket. Stash 'em in the garage attic.
