i have a '75 malibu classic witha 3 speed auto. I converted it over from a 2bbl to a 4bbl. Once I did that the tranny would not shift automatically. I would have to banged through the gears by hand. Now that is only my first problem. The last time I drove the car it got hot and wouldnt shift at all and was full on tranny fuid. Got the car home and it cooled off and it would shift as stated as before. I changed the fluid and filter and started to drive and I heard a clicking noise coming from the tranny. And to top it all off its now leaking tranny fluid from the front of the tranny.

My questions are this.
1. Is the tranny shot?
2. The not shifting autoly is that a vaccum related issure or something else.
3. If tranny is the problem is switing to a four speed much of a hassle?

it sounds like you didnt hook up the vac line to the modulater valve or hooked it up to a weak vacume sorce
