Has anyone used the Sherwin Williams Western line of base coat clear coat products a gallon of the basecoat is about a $100 compared to PPG DBC of the same red, however if it is the same watered down quality as Omni I will pass and pay the $500 a gallon for the DBC. Thanks Zach

Western is a "Value line" of S-W, like OMNI is to PPG. Value lines can save you money, but why? I personally feel that the money paid for the top of the line product is money well spent.

The top of the line products usually (by the odds) provide you with a better finshed job and is easier to apply.

AS was just said, the Western Brand is the economy line .....

Yesterday I finally could not stand not having some paint on something on my 69.

I used the closest match by SW ultra 7000 - dark burgandy metallic - by closest match I mean that SW says that "this is the closest bc/cc match to your original paint" .

I cleared with Western 6020 clear and 920 hardner - was really cool to see that front fender with some paint on it.

Incidentally, I use Western Clears every day on any spray job that I do.

Add a little reducer 4:1:1 and it flows out like glass.
