What do you guys think about Unlimited Products are they worth it our should I just buck up the dough and get products from another company like Harwood. I have seen a few examples of cowl hoods from UP and they seemed fine, but what do you guys think. If not UP then who is the best. Oh by the way I'm looking to buy fiberglass bumpers(front and back) and fiberglass cowl hood to put my 65 Chevelle on a diet.

Depends on whether you want to do some body work or not. I just got my UP hood fenders and I dont see and extra 150-200 dollars worth the labor on it.All I have to do is sand down a little bump on the ridge in the middle and round off the edges. For the price I would go UP but for show(smooth underside)I would go hardwood.

I have a 65 and was contemplating weather or not to get a cowl hood. Does anyone have a picture of a 65 with a cowl?

The UP is usable if you're going to do the bodywork yourself and don't mind a poor fit. My bodyman had to block it five times to get mine flat and then it didn't fit the fender or cowl contours properly. Even after five blockings the hood only looked decent after it finally cured out. The underside frame is a joke and very rough IMO. The skin thickness is not great, very thin.
My second hood is a Glasstek. It only had to be blocked twice and the underside looks identical to a stock hood and provides more cold air cowl induction to the carb. It fit the fender and cowl contours perfect. The skin thickness was superior, it is actually heavier than the UP piece. The cost was only $100.00 more than the UP piece, money well spent for a quality piece.
The difference bodywork costs and the final fit makes the UP piece unusable IMHO.
The one in my signature picture for the 65 El Camino is a UP piece. Look close at the edge of the hood, see how it bows up along the middle of the fender. And yes I do have the light weight hood springs, not the stock heavy ones. The bow is how it fit when I bought it. I have replaced it with the Glasstek one and it fit s great. No I don't own stock in Glastek, just a very satisfied customer.
NHRA1877, Look at my signature for a 65 cowl hood, only the one I have now looks better.
