Putting a vinyl top back on my 70 Chevelle. The previous owner had removed it and filled the holes. I have found the holes for the side trim as well as the pieces that wrap over the fender but only found 2 holes for the strip that goes across the trunk. If there are more in the middle they are blind and I can't see it from the inside. Is there holes I am missing or were there pins across the back as there were on the side.

There are no holes in the middle. Only one on each end. The rest are studs for the clips that hold the molding down.

That what I figured. He must have ground them off. I was lucky enough to find the weld pint on the sides and drilled an 1/8" hole at each location.
Any idea how many studs go across the back?

There are seven pins across the back.Facing the trunk, the first one is approx.6 3/4 " over from the left trunk/quarter panel seam and the pins are 6" apart.I think that trim is slightly curved if I,m not mistaken so it might be a good idea to trial fit your trim on the car, draw lines on both sides of moulding, then center you pins between the lines.Hope this helps. What part of Balto area you in? I live in Parkville. Anything I can help you with ,let me know. Don

Thanks Don. That should be all I need to straighten this issue out but I am sure there will be more.
I live in Fallston. I have the Chassis at my house and the body is on a dolly over in Kingsville. Hope the two will be back together soon.
