i would really rather not replace my windshield since i got it out of the car without breaking it, but my question is how can you bring a window back to life? it's kind of faded and just not as clear as it used to be... i asked around and pretty much everyone said to buff it, but one of my friends said they saw on a tv show that a guy sanded his window with low grit the progressed to a rediculously high grit of sandpaper, then buffed it. i thought the window would get all scratched up. anyone got any ideas?? TIA

Its called buy a new one!!! If you sand and buff it it will look funny. Buff too long in one spot and you will have ruined the glass as it will be distorted.
Nothing beats new glass and for what a few dead presidents

Jay,
Did you remove the windshield because the car is being painted?
If so, you really don't want to put it back in. You'd be amazed at how yellow the old glass will look against the fresh paint.

yea, i took the window out to fix the rust in the window channel. it will be getting painted soon thought. i checked into buying a new one and they weren't too bad, but i figured if i could get away with my old one then it would save me a few bucks i could put towards something else. what about my side windows thought? i didn't think they were readily available. and i would think it would be fairly pricy to get all new windows.

The front glass will look the worst...hanging out in the airstream all the time. For some reason, the side glass never gets as bad.
Must be the angle...

Buy a new one, I already have one and my car won't be on the road for years.

I also agree buy a new one, i just replaced mine while in the process of painting my dash etc. It was original glass with pits all over it. The new glass is SO nice much better to have a clear view than a cloudy view when flying around town.
