I have 2 problems I have been chasing for a while.

1. The dome light continues to illuminate after the doors are shut but at a very weak level. When the headlight switch is pulled on the light goes out. I changet the headlight switch thinking it could be the culprit but same problem. Any ideas?

2. The dash turn signal indicators work correctly, but when the headlights are turned on the indicators switch on the dash. Would this be an issue with the rear harness? It's the only one I didn't replace.

On the turn signal indicators, check the ground to the turn lamps in the front bumper. They rely on bumper/frame ground and the frame needs a good connection back to the body. Those bulbs don't have a separate ground wire back to the body like later years.

Dome light.
Try popping out the dome light bulb. I assume you don't have lights under the dash.
Hang your meter between the dome light ground wire (white) and a good body ground. Should be no connection but you going to see a low resistance. See what might make the connection open up.
Maybe unplug the headlight switch.???
Push in and wiggle on the door switches.???

On the turn signal indicators, it could also be a poor ground in the rear.
