Anyone use this stuff I want to paint my truck a flat black color with a little shine would this stuff work?

Velvaseal is a sealer,not a primer.It is a ready to spray sealer.You want to stay away from anything thats not catalyzed(activator or hardener added to it.)I think velvaseal can be compared to laquer prime in the way that its not used anymore in the industry.Try using Duponts Prime and Seal.Its a non sanding sealer(you can sand it if you want) thats mixed 1:1 with the activator.

and would that give me a little shine? and do they make it in black?

Yes it comes in black.If you put on two or three coats it will dry to a semi gloss finish.
