I'm having a problem with a new rebuild in a 70 Chevelle. The engine is a 396 slightly modified over stock.I'm using a Lunati cam 224/233 500/510 lift, headers, Edelbrock performer, Quadrajet, TRW forged 9:5:1 and pocket ported #290 heads 219/188 valves. The engine was fired up for 20 minutes at 2000 to 2500 rpm and I have been driving it to work now on a 70 mile round trip to break it in. The problem I have is when the engine reaches anything above 2600 rpm it blows oil out of the oil breather? Crankcase pressure? I have a pvc in the other valve cover that pulls vacuum and I pulled all the plugs out thinking that I would find an oil fouled plug ,but I did not. I'm a novice engine builder so any and all advise is appreciated.

I can give you some real obvious tips
1) are there any baffles in your covers?
2) if so are they blocked off?? or are the rubber grommets blocked off ( this is how they come new, haveta cut the hole out)
3) poor suction or wrong pcv inlet port, wrong PCV valve, leaky valve cover gaskets

Look for the obvious cheap stuff first before worrying about bad ring seal etc.
That is all I could think of off the top
