I've seen it done.
About a year ago, I saw some pictures of a 71 if i am not mistaken that was a hardtop and one of the guys here made it a Conv.

You could no tell! It was a really good job.

So.. It's possible..
But I doubt that there are articals about how to do it..

FB, Bide your time and save your cash for the real thing.

A few years ago at SC there were two 1st generation Monte Carlo convertibles, they looked really good too, so it can be done.

By the time you spend time and money cutting, installing a Convertible top reinforcing the frame, etc. I think you will wish you would have waited for the real McCoy. My .02
Good Luck

It can be done, but if you have to ask, it's most likely beyond the skills you have. It would take a master metal worker to pull it off and a donor convertible car for the parts. Like was said above, it's much easier to save your $$ and buy one. They're out there and still affordable right now.
