Hi guys - In the process of tearing down my 64 Elky and removing body from frame. I've found an area of the right frame rail forward and under the idler arm mount that is rusted through, apparently from a long-ago battery leak. The shape of this frame rail funnels battery juice very well.
Can I fix this with a standard weld-in or weld-over patch? Any special things I should think about?
My first thought was to make a up patch to weld right over the existing area, then paint the inside of the rail with POR15. Ideas?
Thanks again!!
